IAPLA.com was created in the year 2006 to compensate for the lack of available services to independent musicians and labels, with the software of TOPTEMPO.com as basis. TOPTEMPO.com was a promoter site for David Blumberg, who was the number one NMA promoter on MP3.com for some years. The site was then developed for Independent artists, and later on re-developed into IAPLA.com - Providing the capability to independent artist members to make music available in mp3 format for download and/or purchase. - and to DEVELOP AS MANY QUALITY SERVICES AS POSSIBLE. - to SERVE the Independent Artists. - to SERVE the site visitors. - to PROTECT PERSONAL DATA. - to TO KEEP THE SITE SECURE, POPUP-FREE and SPAM-FREE. ** WE WILL STRIVE TO KEEP AS MANY SERVICES AS POSSIBLE FREE, OR OTHERWISE AT THE LOWEST COSTS. ** We intend to do the very best to ensure that both artists and site visitors have a quality experience. Artists We are now able to provide the artist with an artist page and space for 100 songs for free. Songs have to be encoded in mp3 format before upload. The artist can: - set a price per song and a 300K clip for the visitor to listen to. A buyer will have to agree to the Download Agreement to ensure that the song will be purchased for personal use only. - Offer a song for free download with no validation. This will require no signup from site visitors. - Offer the song for free download enforceable with a Download Agreement, which will also require membership from the listener. The Download Agreement requires a site visitor to sign up and requires a valid email adress, which will set a browser cookie and allow the visitor to download songs. - Make a song unavailable. This is almost equal to a delete, but the song will remain on the site, and can be made active at any time. Site Visitors - Can find music on charts by genre. - Get free downloads. - Get a "MY SONGS" area for purchased songs. - Get a "COMPILATIONS" area to set up compilations of free downloadable content, which could contain music of various artists. The Artist Agreement is set up to ensure that the artist will ALWAYS REMAIN THE OWNER OF HIS/HER MUSIC. We have contracted Rod Underhill, one of the original co-founders of mp3.com, to write the Artist Agreement. Rod is a specialist in copyrights and music, and is still a crusader for independent artists. To us, it is an honor to serve you. We are building TOPTEMPO.com to be the place, which we would have wanted for our own music. We understand the many concerns you have in uploading your music to be available online.
